Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA)

-A A +A

The Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) is authorized under RSA 674:33 to:

  1. Grant variances from the Temple Zoning Ordinance, including dimensional requirements;
  2. Make special exceptions to the Zoning Ordinance as authorized in the ordinance (this includes approving certain business uses);
  3. Hearing appeals of administrative decisions made by Board of Selectmen and other Temple land use boards in enforcing the Zoning Ordinance.

The ZBA Rules of Procedure and Application are available online as well as through the Selectmen’s assistant in the Town office. Anyone seeking a decision by the ZBA should review the Zoning Ordinance and the Rules of Procedure before filing. Anyone seeking to appeal an administrative decision should note that such appeals must be filed within 30 days of the decision.

The ZBA meets whenever there is a case to be considered and when there is other business. If a resident has any questions about the ZBA’s work they should contact any member.
