Temple Ladies Aid is an organization of friendly women (and auxiliary men and families) who are committed to providing the community opportunities to get together to celebrate life events, both joyous and solemn. While we are based in the Congregational Church, we have members and participants from the community at large. Income from our events is used to support charitable needs in our community. This may include local food pantries, friendly visits, and community outreach.
We make friendly visits and can help with memorial/funeral receptions at Friendship Hall.
We provide regular opportunities for community members to share a home-cooked meal and socialize with new and old friends at our twice-monthly Soup-er Lunches, monthly potlucks, and Fourth of July Ice Cream Socials.
Funeral/Memorial Service Receptions at Friendship Hall
We offer a simple menu of finger foods for a modest suggested donation. Contact us (info below) for more information about current options.
Monthly Pot Luck
The first Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in Friendship Hall. Bring a dish to share and your own plates and utensils. We provide a beverage.
Twice monthly Soup-er Luncheon is a wonderful way to enjoy a delicious meal with old and new friends. For a modest optional donation, you get your choice of home-made seasonal soups, bread, beverage and dessert.
Luncheons are held on the second and fourth Fridays of the month from September through May, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Friendship Hall.
Fourth of July Ice Cream Social
Set on the historic Temple Town Common, we’ll sell you a sundae made just for you as you listen to the Temple Band concert (the oldest town band in the country!). Bring a blanket or lawn chair and settle in with your friends and family for an old-fashioned patriotic afternoon.
We have general information and event notices in each issue of the “Temple Town Newsletter”, available free at the town store (Willard-Cournoyer Store), Temple Mansfield Library, Temple Town Offices and the Birchwood Inn.
We meet the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Friendship Hall. We welcome new members!
If you do not have access to email, your local library can help you get online quickly and easily.
